Why haven't there been any female reigning Muslim monarchs throughout history?

I have tried to look this up, but I can't really find any information about there being any female reigning Muslim monarchs. Have there been any?

Answers:

Women are chattels in Islamic world.

There have. There is a museum in a religious seminary in Yemen, for Queen something-or-other. But I forget her name.

One is Razia Sultan (d. 1240) ruler of the Sultanate of Delhi between 1236 and 1240. Her father made her his heir before his death in 1236. There are others, suggest you do a bit more research. And in modern times there have been many Muslim women leading their countries as Presidents and Prime Ministers.

Don't forget that even in Christian countries there have been very few female monarchs over the centuries - it's not just a Muslim thing!

Says a lot about the religion, doesn't it.

Because according to Prophet Mohammed and his 'Koran', women are to be cherished and respected but are not, and can never be equal to a male. For a supposedly Muslim woman to be a monarch and order about males would be by Koran and Sharia....blasphemy....which is punished by immediate death.

True muslim men don’t take orders from women.

Concerning prophets, in the Quran it says, “We have not sent you before but all were men whom we did inspire.” Caliph is the term or title for the Islamic leader of the Ummah, nation or community of Islam. It means “successor,” that is, successor to the prophet Muhammad. Therefore, in theory, a caliph can only be male.

There hasn't been many female reigning monarchs full stop. Patriarchal societies have been the norm for millennia.

There have been a number of female ruling monarchs in Islamic countries. Most of them in south east Asia but also one in what is now Algeria. See more on the link
