Absolutely, well at least if you were slave owner, I am quite sure slave owners would get out in dem fields and pic that damn cotton so they all could be rich.

Absolutely, well at least if you were slave owner, I am quite sure slave owners would get out in dem fields and pic that damn cotton so they all could be rich. Off course frigging not!!

What planet do u reside on? My own kids never wanted to stay home from school because I would decide to wash windows. They said i slaved them. Lol but seriously slavery broke backs, families, and was ruthless in everyway. No one got out

It depends on from which side of the fence you are looking at... For the SLAVE OWNER... YES IT WAS A CHOICE... FOR the SLAVE... no choice there..

Depends.
Folks who USED slavery had the choice to use it or not; in Africa, the winners in wars had the choice to sell or not sell their captives, and the buyers had the choice not to buy and enslave the losers. As for the slaves themselves, I do not believe they had any choice other than death.

I mean, if you are talking about US Slavery then No - no choice. But if you go back through world history, there is something called "indentured servant" - where you choose to be someone's slave for say seven years. You work for them for free for seven years and you get something from it, like immigration status in a new country. At the end - you're free. But captured Africans and those born into US Slavery did not have that choice.

Yes. The Europeans chose to enslave people from Africa.

Oxymoron, that would defeat the purpose.

Um no

Are there people in prison who have been there so long as to fear not being able to make it in the outside world?

Yes, of course it was. But not the choice of the slaves. We decided to have slavery, and when we framed the Constitution we decided the document should protect slavery. Then finally in the 1860s we decided we wouldn't allow it any more.

In ancient times, slavery was sometimes a choice, because if you didn't have land or sheep or family you might have no other way to stay alive!
