If someone just gave me 1 million dollars, I would save half for the future, I would pay off bills, and take a fun trip, and I would give at least half of the remaining money to family, friends and a few charitable organizations.

Make additional donations to my favored charities and all the local food banks and shelters, just as I do now. I as well as many others here have several million dollars ( cash as well as investments etc) and guess what it is because we invested all these years instead of a new car every year, mine is a 2011, the largest most expensive house was never our goals. Designer clothing and handbags were never my thing.

first pay off all debts and taxes, then set up trust funds for loved ones, then spend some on wine-women-and song, and the rest foolishly. :~))

half to my church, the other half to pay down the mortgages of my children

I'd shop at Goodwill, Target, and Penney's, read library books and used books, volunteer for causes I believe in, cook at home rather than eat out, and goof around on Yahoo Answers.

I do have a million dollars. It's not the fortune it seems like it would be. I don't live in a big fancy house. One of our two cars is 14 years old. But we were able to put our kids through college without debt, save for retirement, travel a few times a year, own a house free and clear, pay off the Mastercard in full every month, and still have a cushion to protect us from a future that goes bad in whatever way it might, from the market to our health.

I would get rid of everything i own. I would send 10k to each my parents to hold for me and 10k to my sister to hold. I would put 50k in several banks each. I would put 10 - 50k in my backpack. I would hide money. Buy all scripture. And i would walk and help addicts and homeless etc with advice and i would grow food and build homes in the mountains and i would change this entire world.

Probably donate some to charity, buy a house, treat family, etc.

family ........family .....family .........and the rest shriners hospitals

Invest it with the group I have my other million with.
