Hi! I am brewing for the first time in my life and I need to know how many packets of (0.176 ounces ) of yeast I need to mix into how many ounces or cups of water.

I am pretty much just making regular cider with little pieces of cinnamon and I

Answers:

One or more. If you sanitize the apple juice first, the only effect of using a small innoculant will be slower fermentation. If you use unsanitized juice, you risk a bacterial culture taking over before the yeast does. In that case, your best bet is to use both packets of cider yeast. You can just put it into the juice, without adding it to water first.

Just 1. But make sure it is beer or wine yeast. Using bread yeast is nasty. I know, i ruined a small 5 gallon batch of mead(honey wine). Oh, you could drink it, but it was not a good taste. You learn as you ferment.

It really doesn't matter. putting more yeast into the apple juice will simply cause the fermentation to occur more quickly. In fact, you don't have to add yeast at all. Just exposing the apple juice to air will cause it to ferment. Yeast spores are present in air. However, there are a variety of strains of yeast, and brewers have developed specific strains which do a better job of accomplishing the desired result, which is to increase the alcoholic content of the final product. I suggest you purchase yeast online from a firm that specializes in brewing products.

There are brewing forums online, checking with others who've used the recipes can get you some solid info on quantity.

you need to find a proper recipe and follow that
