I have a bed that I’ve owned since I was very little, I’m now 15 and I’m wanting a white bed. I could either put in tons of effort and sand, prime, paint, etc. my old bed or buy a new one for $200. My old one has stickers and scratches in the wood, but my

Answers:

Paint it. Put Flames on it...like a car.. Or cut up Beer cans and glue or nail them on. Different brands, different colors. Or glue on pictures out of magazines with carpentry glue that is watered down, then when dry Varnish the surface so it protects the pictures.under a coat of clear. You can always paint over it later if you tire of the pictures. White is boring. Porn is better.

Your call; you might also consider upholstering it with fabric. See pinterest or youtube for ideas.

You are 15 in just a few short years you will probably be leaving home and going to college. Save your money and paint the bed. You are not going to need it that long.

points

Your parents are right. Best to handle color whims as cheaply as possible. Learn how to prep and paint. You will be shocked by the results. It is fun.

.
Though you wish to paint bed white, what is the reasoning for that element, we can not see the framework, but if just frame below, then leavevand get large enough dubpvets and covers to hide the frame, if bed has headboard, then question is, is it real wood or laminated plastic looking wood, if real, then you would have to disassemble and paint, dry and reassemble, if fake wood covering over waferboard, then it is not wipirth painting, or st least disassemble and spratpy coat in garage outdoors, to get even coat, and reassemble,

Otherwise best leave and buy white accessories and mats and trinkets to accent color of rooms themes.
..

If it is a wooden bed with headboard, I can tell you that this old bed is probably a sturdier piece of furniture than anything you could buy now. You will need to remove the stickers, lightly sand the surface, fill in the deep scratches with wood putty and paint it. Many paints have primer included so it is not a separate step.
