Do American teachers need to stop being such pathetic crybabies in response to the idea of defending

I do not understand why there are so many teachers complaining about being armed or armoured? What whiny babies. How can you not love being harder to kill, or potentially being in a position to save innocents?! If they miss, that is unfortunate, but in al

Answers:

8% of secondary school teachers in the USA are threatened with physical assault or are attacked each year. If they were armed they would be able to instill some discipline into the kids.

A lot of people cannot shoot at another person. And if the weapons are not secure, a crazy person can get a weapon. Concealed carry is OK for those teachers who are comfortable using them safety but it is voluntary. I dont think thats an answer, just a small part, in some states. Why not lock the doors while school is in session and have a metal detector on the main entrance? That will keep students in and drug dealers out. You could hire a security guard who is allowed to use his weapon. The teachers unions are probably against any of these ideas. The real problem is with society and what kids are exposed to too young and not able to tell fiction from reality. The videos of ISIS terrorists in the Middle East; the violent and too realistic video games; lack of parental discipline; and perhaps no psychiatric treatment due to meager insurance benefits. There must be a safe way or a hotline for kids to report anything out of the ordinary if they are taught to know the difference. Perhaps they cant tell what is dangerous enough to report.

I think armed teachers is a bit ridiculous. Surely it will require training for something that they didn't really sign up for. It'd make more sense to have police on-site.

Do you think women teachers of young children really want to pack heat, so they can open fire on shooters armed with AR15 assault rifles? It doesn't really fit with the personality types.

Where is all this money for guns, ammo, training going to come from? Your schools are falling apart and teachers have to buy their own supplies. So no school supply money, but somehow money for guns, ammo and training. The rest of the world has figured out that fewer guns means less gun deaths. And then there's America...

They are trained to be teachers, not paramilitary Police Officers. Inevitably will be blamed by all of the PC-whingers and parents if they foul-up, that's why. A not so obvious passing of the buck by the authorities who should never have allowed all these crazy people to have access to guns in the first place. I mean, you can't cut local police and social services without there being consequences.

You sound like you would fit in very well over there Droney. Perfectly in fact.

Liberals should live in the real world and get meaner to survive. Wearing flowers in your hair died in 1970.
