I guess the only way to find out is for the Federal Government to fine the state of Idaho or file charges against them and for Idaho to appeal to the courts and it go all the way to the Supreme Court.

Answers:

The government has the Constitutional responsibility to protect its citizens. And over the years such protection has evolved in regulations governing financial institutions like banks, savings and loans, and insurance companies. Without such regulations these institutions tend to rip off their clients. We saw that in 2007-08 when the junk mortgage scheme crashed after regulations were relaxed.

The Constitution gives the federal government the power over interstate commerce

The state of Idaho can easily circumvent Federal Law covering Obamacare Insurance regulations............... by taking a page from the liberal playbook and simply declaring themselves to be an "Insurance Company Sanctuary State".

They sure did during Obamacare. The phrase used was "Commerce Clause." In my mind they don't have the right.

Article 1 Section 8 gives the Federal Government the power to regulate commerce. Traditionally that only applies to interastate commerce, but in the modern economy there is not any intrastate commerce. If you right a check to your insurance company you are using a bank that is federal insured, most insurance companies are multi state institutions, even a small retail store in some small town is selling merchandise not locally manufactured so in today's economy all commerce is interstate commerce.

Since the Commerce Clause of the Constitution clears grants the Congress the authority to regulate interstate commerce, yes the Federal Government has that authority.

Yes, they do with car insurance. It has already been decided by SCOTUS. Yes, what Idaho is doing is illegal.

Yes. Just like they had the right to tell Hospitals they have to treat all patients.

yes
