Answers:

Yes I can. Its over. Lets move on.

I was for it.

I was involved in something for the Air Force. When it was all over and done with I went to a certain General to report on what I had done. He stopped me and said: "I think it is probably better that I do not know how you managed to accomplish this." JFK was president at the time. I suspect that such things are a lot more common than you might think. In the Iran / Contra instance, someone talked Or someone kept notes. I suspect that on most of these things there is no paper trail and the people at the top do not know who is actually doing the dirty work. I am sure that there were a lot of people involved in Iran / Contra that we never hear of from the State Department, as well as many officers and enlisted personnel. Oliver North took the bullet for them all. The guy rates as a hero in my book.

After nearly a year of hearings into the Iran-Contra scandal, the joint Congressional investigating committee issues its final report. It concluded that the scandal, involving a complicated plan whereby some of the funds from secret weapons sales to Iran were used to finance the Contra war against the Sandinista government in Nicaragua, was one in which the administration of Ronald Reagan exhibited “secrecy, deception, and disdain for the law.” Naming several members of the Reagan administration as having been directly involved in the scheme (including National Security Advisor John Poindexter and deceased CIA Director William Casey), the report stated that Reagan must bear “ultimate responsibility.” A number of government officials were charged and convicted of various crimes associated with the scandal. Iran sent the U.S. 400million dollars for weapons, we never sold them the weapons, but kept the money. (P.S. Not a conservative.)
During the Obama Administration, part of the Iran deal (preventing Iran from making nuclear weapons) was to return that money, plus interest, which amounted to 1.7 Billion, and as a "bonus" we got 5 Americans back. Some Republicans have lied or just misinformed that we paid a "ransom" for the Americans, not true the money belonged to Iran, not tax payers.

Well, after reading thru all the answers here........... apparently your first mistake was asking a CON for accurate facts.

But fantasy made up scenerio's, they got in spades.

it's really appalling that delisional liars like this currently hold all 3 branches of Gov't.

God help us all.

Yes. It is old news...a dead issue.

Democrats were mad because Reagan was fighting their chosen one and communist . Kerry and the Democrats wrote a loving dear comrade letter to him

Yeah what is happening to the party. what happened to speaking for farmers and industry not tariff, what happened to the moral edge about family and children--now its collateral damage for support of the NRA. Barry Goldwater in turning over in his grave.

Just another chapter in the Cold War, the communists vs. the good guys.

The good guys won, and the Democrats are still sore about it.

Pardon Noriega he got a new book
