Americans didn't steal the English language. They just ^cked it up a bit with their spelling. Most ex British colonies have their own take on the British language. Canadians are f^cked up because they spell some words in correct English and some like the f^cked up yanks. In Canada a tyre on a car is spelt tire, yet colour is spelt correctly.

I've never heard that claimed
bastardised yes
stolen no

I've never heard "the English" say that. They might joke about our spelling and grammar but who the heck cares? They seem to like to add letters that aren't needed (colour/color; favour/favor).

They don't claim such thing. But I've heard them making fun of Americans because they "can't spell".

Because they're knuckleheads.

Why do you care what they think?

Who said they did? You don't sound very intelligent.......are you American?

I have never heard an English person claim we stole their language. Abused and corrupted yes, but not stolen.
Oh. It is just Cato the most uninformed/misinformed person here.
BTW kiddie the French and Spanish first colonized what are now a huge chunk of the land mass of the continental US. Even the Dutch had colonies. The colonials who established the USA were not uniformly English either.

How's the weather in Sofia, comrade?

lol nobody claims that. nobody. in the world.

Americans speak a different type of English to the British. For example, the word “color” is spelt this way in America, while in Britain, it is spelt “colour”.
