Could my child possibly have silent reflux & her doctor just don't know it? I looked up the symptoms and she has some but not all. Since she was 3 weeks old (she's 7 weeks now) she does not sleep during the day ( she stays awake 12-16 hours )

Answers:

iT COULD BE A FEW THINGS. None of them are fatal but If I were you , I would take my baby to another doctor because it seems your present doctor is not taking this very serious. I know it is causing you worry and there is no reason for it because a doctor that knows what the problem is NOT GOING TO TELL YOU that your baby is gaggy, fussy, and spiting up is WHO SHE IS , that sounds a little crazy to me. Take her to a serious doctor and he will tell you what he thinks and I can almost promise you you will not get a diagnoses that IT IS WHO SHE IS.

wrong food !!!!!!!!!
chamomile will help for sleep

Congratulations, you have an Alert Baby.

Our now 22 year old daughter never slept the "normal" amount for an infant. She stopped napping altogether right after she turned two.

She is a bright, happy college graduate.

This is your child. If you have any concerns ask a doctor, not a bunch of strangers on here.

Sounds just like my baby. Looking back I so think he had silent reflux as well. He did grow out of most of the problems at about 4-6 months. He is 13 months now and generally happy. A different person. It does get better!

Ask another doctor.

She may be sensitive to her formula. This could cause many of the items. Try using a different formula base. You might use 1/2 soy formula, 1/2 dairy formula only one with iron.

You also need to burp frequently. One method that worked for our child was holding baby with back upright, head tilted slightly back. Feed like this and burp very often.

Many babies are sensitive to dairy, and an upset tummy can be distressful. But, in regards to acid reflux, there also are supplements and drops made for that. You can also try acidophilus made for babies.

Babies aren't happy all the time but should not spend a lot of the day being fussy. You are, however, lucky your baby is sleeping at night.

Be sure to change her position while feeding and burp often. Bottles with liners may help eliminate the gulping because the bottle doesn't form bubbles, as well as using a different nipple.

-Change formula base
-Upright position
-Different bottles/nipples
-Burp more
-Reflux drops

She seems normal to me except for the short naps. Most babies gag when fed as they gulp too quickly and take in air.
I have no idea what a binkie is, does she have a pacifier, some babies need to suck to relax them.
She is only 7 weeks old, if she is not bringing up her milk then she does not have reflux.
