Now watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjXsgN9Z...

Etc is fed talk?

Well, ..., a worst case estimate of the number of habitable planets in our Galaxy is ~1,000,000. Surely on one of those or one of their moons life has had a chance to flourish. However, considering the Fermi Paradox it may be that 1) there are great filters that filter life out before it begins and we're only one of the few to have passed those great filters or 2)There are great filters which we have not passed. Which means that even though life may flourish elsewhere (including here) it does so only to meet an ignominious end in one of the yet to be traversed great filters.

If we have passed all of the great filters then it does behoove us (as being one of the possibly first civilizations to reach space-faring status) to search of other life forms and possibly habitable planets to spread our species around and in insure our enduring posterity before the universe succumbs to the big rip and we all vanish into the oblivion of a cold dark distended universe.

See below.

PS Not sure of what T.E.D. talk you're referring too but would like to see it.

Uh... which TED talk...? There probably are civilizations out in the cosmos, but I doubt we’ll be in contact with any very soon. And, when we do, it may not be as bad as we see in the movies - and, probably not as *good* as we’ve seen in the movies...

what TED talk would that be skippy.
And the odds of ET existing is virtually 100%

Talk. That's all they can do!
