As a species we can be sure that we evolved here on planet Earth, what you are suggesting is not proven.

Can;t even shoot a car at it right.

leave earth? lol

No human has ever set foot on Mars, so we won't be "going back." However, I do believe that we will send people to Mars sometime in this century, but only for exploratory purposes. We're a *long* way from having the necessary technologies to sustain life on Mars. I can't imagine that we'd ever leave Earth, either. I'm sure that people will always live on their Mother Planet.

Professor Hawking stated that 45 years ago, we should have full throttle deepened space exploration with focused goals of finding that habitable near Earth twin planet that we can reach to and quickly terraform for Earth animal and human habitation.

We should be focused on this goal NOW, for generations of mankind; they should have the same fair chance of continuation / survival as we today enjoy---that can be our gift to them.

We are unlikely to have evolved on Mars.

No. Earth has much better real estate. People can walk around outside on Earth without dying from the atmosphere composition. Earth is where our food grows. Earth is where our whole domain of life, Eukarya, evolved, so Earth has been the home of our ancestors for at least two billion years.

The "life on Earth began on Mars" speculation is very speculative. The more likely scenario is that life on Earth began on Earth.

A few will *visit* Mars... that’s not where we came from, however.

"Back to Mars"? We have never been there.
Mars is much smaller than Earth and has nothing that we require to live. It would be impossible to move everyone from the Earth to Mars.

Against YesmondNomad's and (possibly) Conrad's replies I would like to say something a little optimistic.

That is that some scientists and other people are of the view that we cannot solve the VERY SERIOUS PROBLEMS
right now, here on earth ( & so we Will have to Leave.....).

NO, we can & we MUST resolve-to-solve these our serious problems.
All of us can contribute as I have said before : All reasonable people and students alike can work together and
solve these problem-crisis and these effective mistakes of the PAST.
We CAN LOOK TO THE FUTURE.

You me and All.....we can once again make our beautiful & wondrous world -this earth we were born on-
we can once again make it a better place free of dangerous environmental & man-made problems.
We also have a DUTY to DO SO, "DE".
